Day 190

Monday -
What a great day! Wade and I woke up and had a leisurely breakfast - scrambled eggs, hash browns, fakon, and a biscuit. Then we watched some sci-fi television and had a great morning.
Around noon we got on the motorcycle for the first time this whole year. The weather was perfect, the bike worked great, and there was enough power in the intercom system that we could talk the whole trip. It was so good to be back together on the motorcycle and I couldn't stop smiling. I LOVED it. We drove over to a motorcycle shop in New Carlisle first and looked at some Victory motorcycles.
Then we drove to Tipp City for lunch. The lunch was pretty good, but as usual we ordered way too much food.

We both had soup and brought home the chicken and noodles for another meal. Too many carbs and it loaded us down. After lunch we drove through Huber Heights and looked around our old neighborhood. The old house looks almost the same, but they are rebuilding a lot of the schools and that landscape looks different. We missed getting caught in a downpour (which is a good thing).
Tonight, Wade stayed home and watched recorded football, while I went to church for handbell rehearsal and a board meeting. I got home at 9:00 and Wade is asleep in his recliner. So I fixed a sandwich for dinner and stole away the remotes so that I could watch some of MY recordings.
This has been a great 'vacation' day for both of us.

Day 189

Sunday - This has been a wonderful, wonderful day. I got to spend it with my best friend and make lots of memories. We attended church this morning and he was welcomed with hugs and good wishes. How nice! During church we watched both Jaide & Jared get baptized - and then Pastor Joy invited Wade and others to come for prayer and special blessings. It was emotional but also a very precious time.
After church we came home and Wade changed into his "football watchin' outfit" (see picture). And of course, the hat completes the whole look.
Between the two football games, the Enon Pee-Wee Football League held a special ceremony in honor of the anniversary of 9/11. Everyone was given a balloon with the name of one of the lost in the 9/11 tragedy written on a card and attached with instructions  to log onto the internet. Whomever finds the balloon can provide information so the balloons can be tracked. Football players, cheerleaders, parents, etc - we all held balloons and listened to music and some speeches about the importance of that day.
Then we released the balloons. That was a beautiful sight too. And we watched them float off towards the east. I was wondering if we might see one near our house when we got home, but we didn't.

After the game we all met up and had a casual dinner of sand-wiches, chips, salads, and chocolate meringue pie.
Now my buddy and I are relaxing in the living room. SOME of us are relaxing a little bit more than others of us, but that's okay. I'm glad to have him in the same room with me where I can just turn my head and see him and smile.

Day 188

Saturday -
Today we went and picked up Mr. Wide. He found us/we found him and it wasn't that hard. We didn't have to wait long at all.
From the airport we all went to lunch at a mexican restaurant and then we headed for home. It was a nice uneventful trip and we made it to Old Mill Road by 8:00.
We're both tired out but very happy to be together again for these two weeks. The animals are all adjusted and very happy to see their "daddy" too. It's a good day.

Day 187

Friday -
I'm still at Tiffany's and it looks like Wade will be flying in tomorrow. Not sure exactly what time, but he's thinking (hoping) it will be in the morning. So that means within 24 hours I will be seeing Mr. Wide in person.
I had a fairly quiet day here today. Tiffany went to work, Sam & Shelby went to school - then I and two dogs and two cats sat around the house and enjoyed coffee this morning. By noon I went to the store to buy some groceries and things. Sam & Shelby came home after school and we watched Toy Story 3 while waiting for Tiffany to come home. And for dinner I made chicken & beef enchiladas, beans, rice, guacamole & chips. It turned out good, but I think I ate a little too much.
I'll spend another night here tonight and look forward to seeing Wade and getting reacquainted on our 9 hour trip home tomorrow. Thank you, Tiffany for putting up with your mother!!

Day 186

Thursday - I am still waiting for Wade to leave wherever he is and arrive here in the U.S. Last I heard from him he was in Kuwait and needed to get to Germany. From Germany it will be a straight shot to Hartsfield.
So this morning I packed up and headed out for Georgia and Tiffany's house. It was actually a great drive this time. Overcast and slightly rainy but not bad. I had my iPod and I rocked out to praise music the whole way. It was wonderful. I just put it on "shuffle" and listened to a great variety of music. My favorite artists is the group, Go Fish.
One of their albums that I have.
They are so good and enter-taining. Sur-prisingly they are actually singers of children's music (ages 6-12) but they are just so talented that I've got all their music too.
So anyway, I arrived at Tiff's at around 6:00 and visited with Sam & Shelby until Tiff arrived home from work. A nice quiet time tonight. I did get an email from Wade that he is hoping to arrive by Saturday morning. We are going to try as hard as we can to be home so that we can make it to our church on Sunday. Let's hope!!

Day 185

Wednesday -
We are still having rain and cool weather. It seems cooler than what the average would be, but I am definitely not complaining. I love cold, rainy weather.
Well, I don't have a lot of news about Wade, but I believe tonight he is somewhere in Germany - and should be heading toward the states soon. Perhaps he'll arrive late tomorrow night or perhaps on Friday sometime. I can't tell and he is hesitant to state exactly where he is or what his next plan is.
I did a little cleaning today. Washed the bedding (both the human and canine bedding). Vacuumed and dusted. Now tonight I need to pack and I will be leaving tomorrow after breakfast sometime for Georgia.

We had our first Seekers & Singers II class tonight. Not a big group, just 14 but....... we had:

8 fourth grade boys & 1 fourth grade girl
2 third grade boys & 0 third grade girls
0 second grade boys & 3 second grade girls.

Those boys are gonna keep all of us busy and maybe a little bit crankier (meaner) this year. We'll just have to deal with it and someday it will have been worth it! Like I tell Wade, I'm just earning jewels for my crown. And I still love spending my time with them all on Wednesday night and the occasional Sunday mornings.

This was in my spam email this morning. Now, I get over 100 spams each day and I never read them. I quickly scan subject lines and if there's nothing that looks like it shouldn't be there, I will just delete them all. I've had nasty, nasty viruses when I had a PC, and so now I never open anything I don't trust. This email also had an attachment to tell me how to proceed. Because you know, this looks really "OFFICIAL" and I should be worried that my ACH transfer might not go through. Really, people...... really? I want to know who is creating something like this? Who does proofing? Is this from another country where they don't understand English? Is this from a 6 year old that doesn't know how to type? Do they really believe someone will open this and do what they say??  Really, people...... .....really??
There actually IS a website for nacha.org and it's the Electronic Payment Association - (I didn't know that - never heard of them) but my guess is this link is not to that website. But I'm not gonna test it. All I can say is........ "Really, people...... really??"
So things are progressing pretty well with Wade. I got an email today from him that he is in Basrah now. He got to go by vehicle instead of helicopter (although he couldn't let me know until after he had arrived). But he's there and will be for a while. I'm thinking he imbedded a clue in his email, but I won't say what he was sharing. As for me, my plan is still to leave on Thursday morning and become an imposition on my lovely daughter, Tiffany. Ready or not, here I come!!
