Day 57

I spent practically the whole day in my house. I had to have some plumbing repairs and I was told they would be here this morning. In my mind, 'in the morning' means pretty early and finished in plenty of time for me to do other errands that need to be done. I woke up at 7:00 so I would be awake, dressed, and coffee-d up before the plumbers arrived. I wrote letters, wrapped packages, and took care of all the household chores during the morning. I even held off doing any talking on the phone because I was expecting the plumbers to call any minute telling me they were on their way. By 11:00, I just told myself that technically it was still 'morning' and they had another hour to appear. My blood pressure was rising some by 12:30 and by 1:00 I finally gave in and called them. Wade suggested that I just cancel and get someone else. But you know, it's kinda like when you are on hold on the phone. You sit and wait and wait. You debate whether you should hang up and call again, but then you'll be at the END of the hold line and the wait time has just increased. So I just bit my tongue and said, "That's fine, emergencies happen, come when you can". They arrived around 2:30 and made a quick run to Lowe's to buy supplies. By 4 or 4:30 they were finished and walking out with my check in their hands. I'm glad to have hot water again. And my house's heart is beating good again! The heart, you say? Yes, my house has a heart.
It is located on the front of the house and is actually known by some tourists. Apparently when the house was built, the stones on the outside of the house came from all 50 states in the US and facing the street is one that is shaped like a heart.
We often get bicycle riders pass by our house as this road is considered the scenic route. And we have had some people stop and come look at the heart stone.

We are happy to meet anyone that has heard about the heart stone and stops to see it. This is by the kitchen window that looks out onto the street.
So now, the plumbing is good and I need to get batteries for my smoke alarms. They started 'chirping' at me this afternoon and of course, I didn't have replacement batteries, and I couldn't leave the house. Oh well. I told Wade that God must have meant for me to just stay home and get some relaxing in today and this was the way that it had to be accomplished.
Wade is fine - busy but fine. I got some emails this morning and he is still talking about the goodies that he got in the mail. I am glad that he enjoyed all that he got.
