Well, I was fortunate enough to hear from Wade today. He's a little tired and needs to change his clothes (he said) but he's alright. Not yet to his final destination but getting closer. He will be traveling again in a few days. He got to talk with someone who came from the base he's going to and heard very good reports about it. He's more excited now than before to be going there because of the talk he had. Again I am so grateful that I got to hear from him at all.
We've had all kinds of bad weather warnings today. We had tornado warnings, severe thunderstorm warnings and supposedly we are to be getting snow by tomorrow morning. I took my dogs out for a walk around 2:00 because I wanted to make sure that I was back home before the bad weather hit. Since then, we've had a brief downpour but nothing really, really bad. Here is Sheba enjoying her time out front.
We had a wild time at our Seekers and Singers II class tonight. There were about 40 kids. We also held a tornado drill which involves getting all of them down the back stairs, line up in the hallway, bend down into a little ball with their heads tucked in. They have to do it and stay in position for one minute. Ha-ha - get 40 kids to do the same thing and hold it for one minutes. Good luck!!! It was just a hectic, hectic night with all the kids. I was in the skit and I had such a fun time dressing up. After the skit I come back as a normal (?) looking teacher again and they all run up to me and say, "I KNEW it was YOU!!!" ha-ha. It's fun. I also made a hopscotch game on the floor with blue painters tape. It took me almost 30 minutes to create it and we were running out of time so they got to spend about 15 minutes playing on it. I should probably count Weight Watcher points for the work that I did there crawling around on the floor. I usually come home drained on Wednesday nights, but on the other hand it's so much fun and I really do enjoy being with the kids. Things happen, like tonight, a little boy, Stephen came back to the classroom after it was over just to give me a hug. That about makes it worth it, right there! I've already got in mind what I'm wearing next week, but here's part of my costume for this week>>>
