Today was a pretty boring day as far as days go. I am sure I'll have a whole bunch more of those coming, but after a couple of busy days, a boring day seems pretty welcome. It's been cold and rainy all day too, so that makes it nice to just stay inside. The ravine down below is flooded pretty good. I took pictures, but they don't really look as impressive as just standing at the window and looking out over the whole backyard. It is still raining tonight and the fog is starting to form now too.
I prepared a lot for my Wednesday night classes. I will be involved in the skits starting next week and going on for 5 weeks so I am starting to plan for those. I was in charge of the crafts for tonight. We made shamrocks out of pipe cleaners and I told them the story of Saint Patrick. According to my curriculum, Saint Patrick was born in England. When he was 16, he was kidnapped and sold into slavery in Ireland (at this point one of the little girls asked if he was black - which I wasn't expecting). Anyway, after 6 years, Patrick escaped back to England, but he had a burden to go back to Ireland and do missionary work. He compared God to the shamrock. 3 separate entities that create one whole. Thanks to my adult helpers, we were able to help almost 40 children create shamrocks from 2 pipe cleaners - and it only took us 15 minutes!!! Gotta love it. ha-ha. I do enjoy my Wednesday nights and the relationships that I am building with these wonderful children. Love getting hugs and hearing news about them or their families. Jaide and Jared went with me tonight. I enjoy taking them with me too - they are good company.
I haven't heard from Wade today, but he wrote last time that he would be pretty busy. I'll probably hear later tonight or tomorrow morning. So my t-shirt today says, I'm not quite sure how he is at the moment, but I know he'll be writing me sometime soon. Last week, he brought home several boxes with items from his office and left them in the library. I was able to find space in one of the closets - so at least they're not all spread over the floor. I had originally planned to sort through it all and try to get it more compacted, but in the end I just stuck it all in the closet.
I got a call from Tiffany while she was driving home from work. It was raining pretty good down there too. She is going to have some repair work done on her roof because there are some leaks. She is loving having her lap top though and I told her to sign up for Skype too. She has colored her hair and gone pretty dark, but I haven't seen pictures yet.
Enjoying a bowl of popcorn and diet coke right now. I'll watch some more tv and then go to bed and read. I've finished all my homework for my WBS (Women's Bible Study) tomorrow morning.
