Day 27

I love Saturdays so much. It's a day like no other in the week. I look forward to Saturdays as a day to renew, relax, regenerate, and recreate. It is a day where I can plan a nap and not feel guilty. When I was a teenager, I would stay up late, late, late on Friday night watching movies* in my room, sleep in until noon on Saturday and plan to do something fun for the rest of the day. My parents would only let me go out with Wade on one night each weekend so Saturday would be our night. I still couldn't stay out very late, but we would usually go to the bowling alley and spend all our money on the pinball machine, or go to the drive-in. We would get these big, juicy, cheeseburgers at the Dairy Queen or Dairy Freeze or whatever it was and take those with us to the drive-in. I'm thinking my curfew was 11:00 - it may have been 12:00 but I can't remember the details now.
* this was at a time when television stations went off the air after 2:00 am or so - I would find a UHF station and watch old Busby Berkley musicals and possibly they might stay on the air a little bit later.
So this morning I woke up earlier than expected - 5:00 and sat in the living room enjoying a warm cup of coffee. By 6:00, Jaide and Jared were up. We watched The Bee Movie and at 8:00 we went out to breakfast, did a little bit of shopping and came home to the important task of being lazy for the rest of the morning. We succeeded!! We watched ANOTHER movie - Ice Age - Dawn of the Dinosaurs and I sent them back downstairs to their real life.
In the afternoon I went to the church and helped Pastor Patty prepare for her Sunday School classes. They are going to be having a photography workshop where the kids will dress in costumes and create pictures of the Easter story. We created "sets" or  "scenes" for the kids to stand in while the pictures are taken. We made the path where people greeted Jesus with palm branches, the temple where Jesus upturned the money tables and also another area where Judas is paid for his betrayal, the upper room where the last supper and foot washing occurred, the Garden of Gethsemane, and finally the cave/tomb. We went all over the church looking for stored props and items. We were so excited about how everything looked and she can't wait to see their faces tomorrow when they walk in. I left the church by about 2:00 and came home to have a long, wonderful nap.
Wade sent me this picture today. Telling me that he found "his" boat that he wants to buy. It looks pretty rough. He has been getting more involved in work and is hoping to get even busier.  He has a laundry service - at home that's called "his wife" but now he is relying on this service to provide him with clean clothes every couple of days.
He is able to buy inexpensive movies and has bought 5 or 6 now. I think the television shows selection is not as great as he would like and the movies help to entertain him when he's not working.
He also sent me this picture today. He said this is his design for the bathroom downstairs in the basement (Jason & Peggy's bathroom). "Oh, nice" - you might say, until you notice the actual toilet. Different cultures sure have strange methods. All I know is this middle-aged, American woman would not handle this type of potty at all! I'm very glad to have the accommodations that I already have. This is just downright scary to me!!  ha-ha.
I don't have a whole lot to share today, but it's been a lazy Saturday so that might explain it. I'm just relaxing in the living room now and will most likely go to bed fairly early tonight and thank God for my American bathroom!
