Day 34

Toes, Hellos, and More
What a busy, fun day. My daughter wears this old lady out big time! I did get to sleep in until almost 8:30 which is unheard of. My excuse is that I was up very late the night before. Breakfast, shower, and we were off to take care of some important business. Namely, the first pedicure of the year. There's nothing better than sitting in a big, old massaging chair, relaxing, talking with Tiff, getting our toes beautiful. Sandal season is now officially here.

At noon we skyped Wade and talked with him for over an hour. What a wonderful time we had. He is having some real bad problems with his back and pain right now which worries me. He is taking some muscle relaxants to see if that will help. He needs to improve, so that he can take care of his job and write those wonderful weekly updates! Down in the corner of the computer screen is a small, small picture of us that was displayed on Wade's computer screen. He kept us laughing and entertained with some funny, funny stories.

I also have a new buddy, now. This is "Opie". He is a rescue from the Cobb County Animal Shelter. Since Tiffany is an employee for Cobb County she can get a discount on animal adoptions. Opie is almost full grown, although he is too skinny right now. He needs to have me fatten him up some. But he is an outgoing, people loving cat. Right now he's laying on the couch next to me. Very laid back and calm among the other dogs and cats tonight. We bought a nice carrier that can be seatbelted into a car. Opie and I will be having a nice 8-hour get-acquainted session in the car on the way home on Monday.
Tonight for dinner Tiffany and I met at La Parilla Restaurant with her mentor and her mentor's mentor. Fun time with just us 4 girls. I had never met them but they made me feel very welcome and included. Tiffany and I had the Fiesta Salad which had grilled salmon on a bed of lettuce, almonds, cranberries, mango dressing and tortilla strips. Most excellent.
Both Tiff and I are worn out tonight and looking forward to going to bed. But what a fun, memorable day this has been.
