Day 33

Got up early this morning and hit the road for a single-personed road trip. I was so proud of myself for getting the majority of my stuff packed the night before. I woke at 6:00 - showered, fed the dogs, finished getting ready and was out of the house by about 7:00. I had gotten all the way to Yellow Springs when I realized my cell phone was at home in my tutoring bag!!!! Yikes! What is wrong with me?? I had been anticipating a stop at Speedway for gas, coffee, and breakfast. So, I turned the car around and went back for my phone. Then, I just got on the closest freeway and tried to catch up and recover my lost time. I made my first stop in Florence, KY (Florence, Y'all!) I had a nice cup of coffee and I ate one of my fiber bars that I had brought with me. Sausage/egg biscuits from the gas station just didn't seem all that appealing to me.
I did okay today even with the delay. I had lunch at my half-way point. By the afternoon I was getting kinda sleepy so I cranked up my iPod and car-danced to some rockin' praise music. Then I crossed the border from Tennessee into Georgia and this is what greeted me:
Northbound traffic was bumper to bumper. This was absolutely crazy! Probably the  biggest reason that Wade and I are glad we don't live in Georgia any more. Even though the traffic wasn't as bad heading south, it was and always is crazy!! Trucks (double trucks) are barreling down the road going much faster than 70 mph. Pretty scary! But that's just Georgia for you!

Here is ANOTHER sight I haven't seen in quite a while - no..... not the 60 MPH I'm driving - but at 3:00 it was 81 degrees in northern GA. I am so glad that I planned ahead and packed sandals. I will most likely need them this weekend.

I will try to take some pictures of the beautiful trees down here while I'm visiting. They are all blooming in gorgeous shades of pink and white. So pretty. I can't wait to see that up north within the next month.

So I arrived safe and sound - well almost - Wade, I took that new bypass and it is definitely NOT a short cut - in fact it took an extra half hour and even with the GPS I still got lost. But it could have been so much worse if I didn't have the GPS unit with me. And just think how really catastrophic it could have been with no GPS and no cell phone (shudder!!) So we should avoid the bypass. Bypass = bad decision!

Tiffany had beat me home from work - which was good - because then she could carry most of my bags up the stairs!! ha-ha. We went to Wal-mart and partook in our favorite past time. And we do it soooo well. Then we came home and Tiffany made us the most awesome taco salad. I think Taco Bell had better watch out - there could be some pretty stiff competition. I had to eat mine in three different sittings because I would get full so quickly, but it was so good that I just had to finish it. It was Mm-Mm good!

Wade posted his blog today for his second week. I love the pictures he posts with it. I'm looking forward to skyping with him tomorrow. I've had a long day and am looking forward to a fun weekend!
