Day 244

I don't know why...... me and Ronald Reagan - no gray hair. About 5 years ago, I grew out my hair to get rid of the dyed portions. And I thought that way I would be able to actually see when the gray appears. Nothing yet, but I'm guessing it will be any day - I'll wake up one morning and poof!! gray hair.
I try to determine when my time is by looking at my parents.... now my Dad seemed to just all of a sudden turn completely gray. My mom, though gradually went salt and pepper from the time she was around 45-50. And one of my brothers (it seemed to me) did go "poof" gray one day. So it's coming.
Now I have a couple of grandkids that are pushing the envelope here and trying to help me along.
Today I was at a football game where Jaide was cheering. Jared was playing with friends under the bleachers when they called for Peggy to come. He had fallen and knocked himself out. Blood everywhere and he seemed disoriented. So the ambulance was called for and Peggy spent the rest of the day at the hospital. He is fine now, but he's got 3 staples in his head.
Then I read that Shelby had some sort of insect (spider?) bite on her leg that was infected. She needed some serious work on it and she is recovering from her ordeal this afternoon.
Come on guys..... Grandma wants you both to knock it off and let me enjoy my natural brown hair for a few more years.
I spent the morning baking and working in the kitchen. I prepared 36 pumpkin raisin muffins for Sunday School.
I tried one this morning - just to make sure they tasted okay. I used applesauce instead of fat and cut the sugar amount in half and used Splenda for the other half. I also used whole wheat flour. So they will be a little bit healthier and not too sweet and sugary for all those little 4th graders. Jaide also tried one this afternoon and she ate the whole thing, so I guess they are edible and will be fine.
I also decorated a birthday cake, but that picture won't be posted until after it's cut.
And here is a picture of the rug that I bought from Bed, Bath and Beyond.
As you can see, Sheba is enjoying it. But the bad news (Wade) is now I want to change my curtains - they're floral and I think I want to go with a geometric pattern to go along with the rug and the stones on the fireplace. I'll have to look into that.
I'm so looking forward to my extra hour of sleep tomorrow. Let's hope the dogs are fooled by it too, but I doubt it. They'll wake me up at 6:00 wanting breakfast most likely.
