Another great Sunday. I had about twelve 2nd & 3rd graders. We went through the same story and made the ravens. But this morning, because I had done some of the prep work early, the children had enough time to create them as well as walk them down the hall into the narthex. There we taped them to the walls for the adults to see. I had fun with all of them.
During church we had a special "Thank Offering" this morning. Two weeks ago we were asked to bring gifts of thanks that would be shared with our community through the Outreach House. What you see on the altar is food, blankets, jackets, clothing, diapers, baby food, and there was a basket for monetary donations too. What a blessing to see all of this. Today Jason, Peggy, Jaide & Jared wished me a happy birthday and took me out to lunch. This was my gift and I can't wait to try it out. It's a home Cotton Candy maker. But...... the great thing is..... you can make cotton candy out of hard candy and the better thing....? you can make it with SUGAR FREE CANDY - any flavor -
cinnamon, root beer, peppermint, vanilla, caramel and the flavors can be mixed too. I will be going to the store this week to pick out some candies and testing my new machine. Thank you!!
I had a nice phone conversation with Tiffany tonight and we talked about her coming up here for Thanksgiving. It will be great to have her here. Along with bringing her two babies, she will also be bringing her two canine babies. It will be a great time of lots of chaos and I can't wait!!! She will arrive on Thursday and go home probably Sunday morning.
In an email Wade said there is a rumor that this guy may be showing up at his base tomorrow. He's not sure if it's true or not, but he said if it is, he just wants to keep his head down and not get involved. We'll find out what happens. I want to tease him and say that Ted Koppel is coming to interview a certain Mr. Wide that is publishing a blog....... and wants to buy his cool hat.......... ;o)
